...SNOW and lots of it!
Firstly, I would like to apologise for my previous post. I am an English student and should take more care with my writing, though I did write it in a hasty manner. Forgive me.
Let me start with a cheery, "happy new year!" I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and a 'merry' new year celebration. Now we are to return to normal, working hard and getting into the swing of things once again.
Today, Mansfield has been taken with a winter chill, along with a healthy coating of snow. Calling it a 'blanket of snow' never sounds appropriate to me, as a blanket is normally associated with a slightly warmer feeling. However, today I find myself more warmed by the good will of others and the fellowship of humankind.
(I am sorry if you heaved at that rather sickening sentence.)
Amongst the trouble that the snow has caused today, I have watched numerous cars struggle to get up the hill where I live. At times, I find myself addicted to the races between cars taking place, trying to make it to the top. In this weather, of course the 4x4 cars always succeed, which hastens me towards my main point.
I have seen more people come together, pushing cars up hills, people towing others in need. Others, I have seen simply talking, laughing and enjoying this slightly rare occasion. A coming together of people, this we may see very little of. Although, what I must point out is that I didn't walk out into the snow ealier feeling dismal about the cold, but happy to be taking those first, crisp steps in the snow.
This merely brings me to one simple conclusion. When you have doubted others, when you have watched the news and made your point about how "the country isn't what it used to be", that you really must reconsider. When you are in need and with a healthy attitude in your own lifestyle and a desire to see the good that you are surrounded by, you won't have to look far.
Stay classy San Diego.
